1. Introduction

GoPuppy ("GoPuppy", "we", "us", or "our") provides a pet care application for iOS and Android and the website gopuppy.app (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: your email address and name, provided when you sign up with your email or through Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, and an optional profile photo.
  • Pet profiles: information about your pets, such as name, species, breed, birth date, weight, gender, microchip number, and photos.
  • Care and health records: reminders, care events, health conditions, vaccination and vet-visit records, weight history, and notes you choose to log.
  • Household and collaboration data: when you invite family members or caregivers to help care for a pet, we process the invitee's email address and the care activity shared within your household.
  • Preferences: language, measurement units, and notification settings.
  • Communications: messages you send us, including support requests and, if you delete your account, the optional reason you provide.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: in-app events (for example, screens viewed and features used), app language, and device language, collected through our analytics provider to understand how the app is used.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data, which may include your device model, operating system, and account identifiers, so we can find and fix problems.
  • Push notification tokens: a device identifier used to deliver the notifications and reminders you enable.
  • Website analytics: our website uses Google Analytics and essential cookies for site functionality. We do not use advertising cookies.

Purchase information

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive or store your payment card details. We receive subscription status information (such as product identifier, entitlement, renewal, and expiration) through our subscription management provider so we can unlock premium features.

We do not collect precise location data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and secure the Service, including syncing your pets' data across your household.
  • Send the reminders and push notifications you set up (you can turn these off at any time).
  • Send transactional emails, such as sign-in codes and household invitations.
  • Process and manage your subscription.
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it and develop new features.
  • Diagnose and fix crashes, errors, and abuse.
  • Send product news and marketing emails only if you have opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR (European Union), LGPD (Brazil), or similar laws apply, we process your personal data on these legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), your consent (for example, marketing emails and optional permissions such as camera or photo access), our legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf under contractual safeguards:

  • Cloud hosting and storage providers — to store your account, pet data, and photos.
  • RevenueCat — to manage subscription status for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play.
  • Mixpanel — for product analytics.
  • Sentry — for crash reporting and error diagnostics.
  • OneSignal — to deliver push notifications.
  • Loops — to send transactional and, with your consent, marketing emails.
  • Apple and Google — if you sign in with Apple or Google, they process your sign-in according to their own privacy policies.

We may also share information within your household (with the caregivers you invite), to comply with the law or valid legal requests, to protect the rights and safety of GoPuppy and our users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data).

6. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time directly in the app: go to Profile → Delete Account. When you request deletion:

  • Your account and your pets' data are deactivated immediately and no longer visible in the Service.
  • You have a 30-day grace period during which you can restore your account by simply signing in again.
  • After the grace period, your account and associated personal data are permanently deleted from our systems, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
  • Unless you opted in to our newsletter, your contact is also removed from our email provider.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the LGPD), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data (see Account Deletion above).
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (for example, the ANPD in Brazil or your local EU supervisory authority).

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, and loss.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers and service providers are located in the United States and other countries that may be outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
